The first thing and the easiest thing I can set up for you is to get you a "vanity" e-mail address with the Helmuth.Net domain. I use a service called MyDNS.COM. They are a virtual DNS server. I have the Helmuth.Net domain parked there. MyDNS.COM does e-mail forward to a "real" e-mail account. I do run a small mail server. What I suggest is that I set up a forwarding rule to your "real" e-mail account. That way my tiny little mail server does not get to full of e-mail. I can also host your e-mail account. *** Note that you will still need to use your current ISP's setting for SENDING e-mail. Here is an example: Lets say that you are currently using HotMail for your e-mail and your account is JoeBlow. I am also assuming that you would want you Helmuth.Net e-mail address to be JoeBlow@Helmuth.Net. What I would do is go to my Helmuth.Net mail server and tell them that anytime some sends an e-mail to JoeBlow@Helmuth.Net that it should be re-directed to JoeBlow@HotMail.com. I know it seems easy and you might wonder if it works, but honestly I have been using it for dave@helmuth.net for better than 6 months and I have not had ANY problems. If you would like try it for a while. If you don't like it, no problem, I'll get rid of the account. 1. Here is how to change the settings if you want to have your e-mail hosted on my mail server. If you are simply having me send it somewhere else, then just skip to step 2. (Please click to enlarge!) 2. There is one other thing you will probably want to do. That is to change the e-mail address in your e-mail client to make it look like your e-mails are coming from a "real" Helmuth.Net mail server. Here is how to do it in MS Outlook/Outlook Express (You would change the "E-Mail address:" to whatever Helmuth.Net address you received): (Please click to enlarge!) That is all you need to do. Everything else stay just the same as you ISP told you. Key Benefits
